How does syncing works between the RGBW remote and 9W RGBW bulb? I got my delivery today, plugged in the bulb and it turned on after 2 seconds. Press the S+ (even tried holding it) as per website support page and no syncing happening. Tried the 2nd bulb but same issue. The remote is showing red color LED in the middle which I assume is ok then.

I thought it was the on button for the zone you want to have the lamp on for all the remotes?

That's the case for the white lights/remote, but I don't have the RGBW or RGBW Remote.

What billgates described was the method for the original RGB bulbs/remote (which I've done via an app version of the RGB remote)  but I'm uncertain on the RGBWs

I just checked it out and definatly a press (not hold) of the 1 on button got an unpaired RGBW R80 unpaired lamp paired up to the remote just fine.

I plugged the LED in again at work kitchen room. Pressed 1 within 3 seconds of LED coming on and still nothing. Instructions on website said that it will dim down to let you know that pairing is complete. Any other ideas?

Two bulbs unlikely to both be faulty.. common factor seems to be remote.. batteries possibly?

It does, it's pretty obvious.  Besides which it will also respond to commands from the remote :)

Got it. Tried number '4' on the remote controller and it worked. Maybe I did not press 1 hard enough. Also DUHH for not looking inside the box for the supplied instructions. The website needs to be updated through. It asks to use S+ button instead.

Good day,

Is there any way to use RGB scheme for colors in controllers? (for using all 3 types of leds on the led strip for example)

Just saw this come up on hackaday. The linked arduino shield has the same RF chip as the limitless/milight gateway I have here, and the lamp looks the same so I am hoping that the arduino code might work connected to the RF chip from the limitless gateway.

My electronics workbench is out of commission at the moment because if pending garage re-cladding so cant really stuff around with it in the near future. But it it works on an arduino then hopefully could port the code to a pi.

edit: helps to put the link http://hackaday.com/2015/08/23/make-your-own-remote-control-led-light/

hi rich, I saw your comment on hackaday regarding the limitlessled wifi bridge.  if you are having issues with the wifi side, we can replace yours with our latest wifi bridge model, just send us a pm.  there should be no issues at all. we have tried hard to ensure there are no known problems with our wifi bridge in 2015. thanks.

you can also talk directly to the LimitlessLED bulbs using the PL1176 RF ardiuno or pi2 shields also. the specs and commands are on the www.limitlessled.com/dev site.

Their ESP8266/PL1176 wifi bridge is quite expensive at 39.90 Euro ($45.82 USD)  considering it has the same components as a limitlessled wifi bridge which is $17USD (HF-LPT100/PL1176)

You could attempt to take over the limitlessLED HF-LPT100 microchip, in the same way that the ESP8266 microchip has been by the DIY community.

I know API and use it, but all colors in table has been combined by 2 from 3 leds in 5050 smd (green+red or green+blue red+blue) and I no see ways to use all three (red+green+blue, for example 20% of red, 30 of blue and 50% of green). May be you know about walk around?

Hi Hamish,

Just thought I’d let you know, installed new bridge, all working perfectly, been
running now for about 4 weeks, no problems at all, looks like that’s fixed any outstanding problems.

Thanks very much

Wayne
