It hardly makes much difference for such a small purchase. From 73c to 70c it's only about $5

www.bhphotovideo.com are selling them now,$150 usd shipped to NZ. none currently in stock but should be more soon. ive ordered a lot through BHP and theyre pretty good
One thing I have noticed is that if I play something from google play music on the home, and then pause it and go watch youtube videos, it will soon pause the youtube because its being used somewhere else, even tho the home is paused.
Happened a few times now.
Found out last night you can play local radio stations. Just say "Play 96.6" said as "Play ninety six point six". For stations like 95BFM that are 95.0, you have to say the '0'. That is the TuneIn Radio service that has the logo on the box but does not show as part of the supported music services in the app.
[Incorrectly posted that in the Echo forum]
RS820+, DS223, CoreELEC on Odroid N2+, 3 x Echo Dot & 7 x Google Homes connected to Home Assistant on Beelink SEi12.
greenbone: Can confirm ordered from bhphoto yesterday, shipped to NZ today via dhl saver
Google is making them available cheap before Black Friday ($99) so I bought one last night for $99. Shipped to Youshop and I can't imagine it would cost more than NZ$25 to ship to NZ so the total cost might be around NZ$166
Just for fun since I already have two Amazon Dot's and they are integrated into my HA. But I could run both I guess.

Really hope they bring out a google home version of the echo dot with an audio output since the home sounds significantly worse than the big echo does. Using a chromecast audio for music playback is pretty crappy IMO, as the volume of the music is such that you cant really hear the home talking back to you, it doesnt mute it down at all. The inbuilt speaker is really only good for the talking back at you, and if I cant hear it over the music then its pretty useless for that too.
Add to that the absurdly bad times to get anything to play out of the chromecast audio and the frequant google home telling me that I dont have a device called bedroom speakers and to try using the devices name (which is bedroom speakers for the one in the bedroom) and it really is frustrating compared to the dot plugged into the speakers directly.
I don't know what Google Home is. After reading the first few replies I'm thinking it's a wireless speaker thing but I don't know anything more about it. Someone please come forward and tech me what this is all about?

Didn't know the Google Home didn't have audio out apart from WiFi options. I was planning to use it to play Google Play stuff since I am not in the Spotify/Amazon music ecosystem.
Guess I could just use my Chromecast audio. Currrently I control that with a spare phone but using GH might be tidier?

I just shipped from Youshop to Auckland and the price I got was $41.50 for their 5-9 day delivery and $30.00 for their 9-14 day delivery.
It probably really depends on how it is packaged.
I might wait and see what Black Friday other deals are around and aggregate the shipping. That saves quite a bit/
