A few questions for the new device announced by Google:

  1. How can you ship it to NZ? (YouShop?)

  2. does it have 240v and therefore compatible (with an adapter) to NZ power?

  3. Can you make it NZST time?

Any other questions will be great to start this forum...

Yeah i wonder if it will be Nest like, and need a bunch of hacks to get it to work over hear.  Personally not interested in many products that dont release a proper world wide version.

I had a weak moment so.....

  • How can you ship it to NZ? (YouShop?)

Well I've pre-ordered one via YouShop. Will let you know what happens.

  • does it have 240v and therefore compatible (with an adapter) to NZ power?

No idea. See above!

EDIT: Google says....

Power Adapter

100-240V-1.1A 50-60Hz

  • Can you make it NZST time?

Will let you know when I get it and have a play.

How did you order it? Which company? Did you use a USA credit card?

Got the invite - not sure why.

From there tried Google, but that kept going to the NZ store. Then Best Buy but that always crapped out on the credit card.

After a few tries here and there, it worked with Walmart (via YouShop) with Paypal.

Ive tried 4 credit cards (NZ) through walmart with a YouShop address and the order keeps getting cancelled. Did you have a USA Credit Card account to purchase this?

preordered on walmart with youshop / paypal, immediately received an email saying order had been cancelled, but is still showing as active on the walmart site

will wait for a few days and see if the status changes ... might need to adjust the paypal address (ie. get rid of any reference to nz)

You had me worried so I've just checked my order again. Still there.

I did notice (and I really don't know how I managed to do this as I setup Paypal a long time ago) that the billing address has UNKNOWN for the country. I guess that may be how my order has (so far) slipped through the net.

Anyone have any luck with Paypal and Walmart. Just looked at my PayPal and it has NZ all over it. Just wondering what I need to change so that I can get my hands on a Google Home..
