I think it does (somewhat), theyre not storing videos, theyre storing a low resolution thumbnail for a couple of days, so people can get thumbnails in notifications.

Yeah, they should have said that clearly, and their PR has been crap around all of this.

Be interesting how it plays out.   Their PR department really should have responded open and honestly quickly, instead of not stating the facts clearly and everything just blowing up.

OK read all of the above. Not terribly concerned about the video security internet leakage issue as several above have said you have to know the IP address.

We are the back section end of 40mtr driveway. Front section is now up for sale. Previous owner was a lovely lady no hassles. We are now worried who our new front neighbour will be so are thinking of upping our non-existent security with ext cams. We actually own the entire driveway which they have right-of-way. There are no driveway gates.

So seriously thinking of buying the: eufyCam 3C (S300) 2 Pack with HomeBase 3

What are peoples thought on this model as compared to the 2 and 2c pro ?? (note: we are an Apple  household ref signature)

Just seems to have face recognition where’s as home base 2 doesn’t . We have all Apple but never bother with HomeKit , the Eufy app it’s self meets our needs . I can’t really see much benefit compared to the 2C cameras . The quality we get is good enough without needing to upgrade. Just my view , if you are interested in just the 2C super cheap is often one of the cheapest shops often beat Noel lemmings in price

not sure what you are expecting to see at 40m but most fixed lens cameras struggle at 10m

The HomeBase 3 has expandable ext storage of SATA 16Tb

The cams are 4K UHD

Face Recognition

Pet & Vehicle Detection

Plus this model is just the latest & ?greatest with the ?? better software and ?? Apple integration

We ?may? also get the Eufy Video 2k Doorbell Battery Add On

Noel Lemming - Tauriko

eufyCam 3c - 2 cam + base = $899.00 - no GoldCard on special already
Video DoorBell = $278.99 - GoldCard = $251.13

Realise that. The 10m would suit us as front property car access is within that distance.

Thanks for Youtube video link

I’ve got the Homebase 3 and put 2 into my Mums house.

Homebase 2 has HomeKit integration, Homebase 3 doesn’t. They say it will eventually but don’t buy on that basis, Eufy has form implementing features they say they will.

The cameras are much of a muchness, both are good. The AI is ok but not really that accurate. Maybe 40% for facial recognition.

We've got a homebase and a couple 2C cameras. I've tried to integrate them into home assistant using third party integrations over RTSP but reliability and function is poor at best. I plan on getting rid of them and doing It properly with IP cameras, like I should've from the start.

If you require battery powered cameras, I think Eufy are great considering their free cloud service.
