The seller replied to my query about a gateway for the temperature adjustaable ones so I would hope so, and there is one in the picture on that listing.
Already hit buy on it so if you wait a few weeks I can let you know for sure.
Also got an email from limiteless offering a free V5 gateway with a certain amount ordered, so I guess he is clearing stock of them for the new ones.
New gateway is here. Has the option for the rgbcct remote in it.
There is also another one that has a code in the corner but it seems to be for some other lights rather than letting you make your own ID to have more than 4 sets controlled from one gateway :(
Manual shows some other lights I have not seen so far - track lights and outdoor floods so may have to see if they are somewhere other than aliexpress or perhaps just not released yet.
New app and new bridge. Looks to be the same wifi module.
It has the same "smart link" setup that heaps of IOT things have now that never seems to work properly, so I had to do the hold the button down and then connect to its own AP thing. At least this one doesn't have the button recessed like the previous bridges. I broke the button off one because I was pushing with something a little too thick for the hole and then it went in and smacked hard into the button.
Edit:
Also the wire antennas were pushed down to within a couple of mm of the board, which looks to have a ground plane on it (white silkscreen so cant really see) - thats gonna hurt RF performance so may bend them up if I have issues. Will make shadows from the LED but thats minor if it helps with range. Am yet to see if there is any problems with it.
The light can be turned off. Im disappointed it has no button for it or anything. Would have been useful to have on a table in that case.
This is it for web UI
There is timer stuff on the app, not sure if its done on the phone or the gateway, dont really need it so will not be looking into it for now.
Different app tho. I havent found any details on that hi flying chipset at all, its a complete mystery compared to the esp8266 one even tho both are about the same price.
I also broke one of my last limitless gateways when I was running a software update for something else that has a hi flying module in it, their app found the other chipset and proceeded to update it with their software. Oops.
I just received my one, and not only did I have the standard auto-setup failure, after managing to get the manual AP option to succeed, the device was still not discoverable by the app.
After over half an hour of playing with the reset button, trying out various APs and networks and even temporarily enabling uPNP on my router, I found that although my Nexus6 running Android 7.0 is unable to find the device, my N5 running Android 6.01 can.
So anyone running 7.0 may have to wait for an app update for this bridge to work.
tieke:
So anyone running 7.0 may have to wait for an app update for this bridge to work.
Tried the Nexus6 with 7.0 again after getting it working with Android 6, and for some reason this time it showed up, so possibly I wasn't holding my tongue the right way during the first dozen attempts (or you might need to set it up on 6 first, as I had to do with Milight 2.0 during my "try anything" stage).
And an email from limitless selling these as well now.
