The technology is pretty amazing IMO, especially how they can pack it into that sort of price point.

An item in our local paper about horse riders and farmers being harassed by rogue drones. It seems to be a bigger problem than many realise. The farmers want to know if they can legally shoot down the drones. This makes me wonder if drones can be jammed or misdirected. I don't know much about modern RC. Is it digital and protected in some way or can it be interfered with?

I have a drone. If it loses touch with the base, it flies back to the GPS location it took off from and lands by itself. It avoids objects on the way if any appear. It was expensive, but that's what I paid for.

I don't fly it over private property. BUt that doesn't mean the public property it's flying over at 120 metres doesn't allow it to see a lot of surrounding private property. You just have to be more than 20 metres from the boundary. Auckland Council let you fly drones (under a certain size - so any DJI drone is OK) from most parks....(not Cornwall - that's a private trust).....but you also have to stay out of airport exclusion paths.....There's a map.....If you do that and stay under 120m, you're good.

Conceivably, if it was flying over public property and it lost its signal, it could end up flying itself over private property? e.g. an L-shaped piece of public property?
