Got my shipping notification this morning for my new 6" wifi model. Not sure when to expect it but probably not until monday if it's coming from anywhere outside of NZ.

Good stuff.

FYI I've used the "Gift Certificate method" to get the US books on my Kindle for PC software.

You usetwo accounts, one with the New Zealand address, and a new one, created with an US address.

Don't enter a credit card on the US account because it automatically says you can't buy content because of the billing address. You use the NZ account to buy a gift voucher for yourself, and load it on the US account. And only buy books from the gift voucher balance.

Hmm, I still haven't gotten a shipping announcement yet, although when I pre-ordered mine, it said they wouldn't be shipping until the 8th of september :|

You have to "manage your Kindle" and add its serial number to your account.

Then when you buy a Kindle book you can select in the dropdown list to send to your device.

I see in my affiliate pages some of the Kindles were shipping...
