I had to disable my Centos firewall so that my Echo dot could find the "lux light". Once found it still works even though I've re-enabled the firewall.

The instructions talk about controlling the colours by adding a new device that sends colour commands. But I'd like to know why the dimming doesn't work firist.

and using the test buttons, both on and off work, but the DIM doesn't do anything except bring up a slider which doesn't alter the intensity.

Unfortunately this isn't working for RGBWW/CW bulbs :(

Alright, here is my work around for having HA-BRIDGE work with the Limitless/Milight v6 bridge.

First - get Domoticz Beta build 3.6562 from here https://domoticz.com/downloads/

Visit the domoticz configuration page by using your browser and going to http://127.0.0.1/8080

Install and add your device by going to settings--> hardware and picking the limitless option

(use v6 Controller IP address, and port number 5987 as that is the new RGBWW+CW controller port)

Once you've got that showing up, you then need to use the blue set mode option on the new hardware item.

Set it to v6 and your bulb type to RGBWW.

Then you need to visit setup - devices and click the bulb symbol beside the light group name. If your lights turn on and off when you click that symbol, Domotics is setup correctly. Take note of the ID number that your LED has on the devices list.

You then need to install JDK1.8 to your PC and get the HA Bridge jar here http://bwssystems.com/

Run the JAR file and then visit http://127.0.0.1

In the setup page, you need to add a new device using details below

manual configuration

Name - Porch Lights (The name you would like to use for Alexa to identify the scene/switches )
Device Type - Custom
Map Type - Blanks
ON ITEMS= TYPE HTTP DEVICE: http://192.168.0.100:8080/json.htm?type=command&param=switchlight&idx=25&switchcmd=On <change this ip address to local ip address of the pc that is running domoticz, and the IDX should be the ID of the device from Domoticz

further to my issues back a page or so..

I have found that when using my lights on the wifi,

if they don't respond to the command > I ping the device > previous command is activated instantly

Has anyone had them dropping off the network so much?

I was just a tad curious as to how much work was needed to get my own scripting to work with the lights and Echo without the need for the habridge or anything else. Seems a bit of work was required and lots of wiresharking! But I got it working. Since the habridge can't be exposed on the internet as it lacks any security whatsoever, I can now ditch it and setup my own secure interface for processing IFTTT commands in the same server app.

Hey good job mate, I've got this running for RGBWW/CW bulbs (I don't have alexa but my new harmony hub has hue support, so using Domoticz + HA Bridge) to be able to use the remote to turn on and off bulb, and dim them with + - buttons on remote.

Work's pretty effectively.

I have also been using HA bridge to do other stuff like start a playlist on specific Spotify connect speaker (using tasker running on phone in combination with autoinput and auto remote) to trigger commands via HTTP. The Commands are simple HTML url's, so I can use the Hue function of my remote to send these commands (on downside is the objects all appear as bulbs in my remote.

It's currently the only way I'm able to play Spotify to a specific Spotify connect speaker without pulling out your phone.

Since Echo via the hue bridge doesn't allow you to control the colour of individual lights, as a hack I'm using odd numbered bulbs to control the light intensity, and even numbers to control the colours. Intensity is 0 - 255 which is the same as for the colours.

So, if I say "Alex turn colors 50%" I get a yellowish bulb.

They have a pretty basic 2.4Ghz protocol so yes someone could sniff the remote and then use that to turn them off and on. That doesnt really worry me too much at this stage, if it becomes a problem with some prick being silly and screwing with them I will then see what else is available instead.

Our new RGBW/WW/CW series bulbs currently can't be sniffed. Even though they have a fairly simple (aka very fast), but effective, security protocol, I get emails daily from people asking me what the new 2.4Ghz protocol is because nobody can break it.

People send me 1,000s of sniffed logs, and they ask me to decrypt it, because they can't. For now, nobody knows the private security key because its locked inside the MCU inside the bulbs and wifi bridge v6. I calculated it would take 500years to brute force the private key on a supercomputer :)

Well that sucks then. Hurry up and make a useful gateway since getting 1 for each group of lamps I want to control is not viable.

You can control 4 groups of RGBW/WW/CW containing unlimited bulbs in each group. but you already know that. you make it sound like each wifi bridge can only control 1 group :) yes I agree 4 is still not enough groups of bulbs. soon we will have 8 group remotes and 100+group wifi bridges :) can't hurry a good thing :)

I want individual control of each lamp. That's about 20 so far. Works OK with the others so fingers crossed someone can get it reversed
