Alright, here is my work around for having HA-BRIDGE work with the Limitless/Milight v6 bridge.

Hi Macuser.. Here is another new way to Get Alexa Echo Dot Voice commands working. Came across it today.

You can specify a domoticz server in latest build of HA-Bridge, simplifying the process hugely as Domoticz devices will be controllable

Me and my light .. I guess it's a RGB+W light. Not sure what bridge I'm using.

What is the white ARMbian box you are running there? it says P10 on it. I like the color and shape of it. These days the case can be more expensive than the PC inside it. Is it powered by a 2Amp 5V adapter?

Have you tried to make Alexa faster? it seems too slow. I could walk to the light switch in that time.

Ive got stuff here running on a smartthings hub I got when it was $50 on amazon, and its pretty quick. Using wemo lamps from bunnings at around $20 for just ugly warm white but dimming. Last I looked the limitless handler couldnt set brightness so I wasnt able to go "alexa, desk lamp 20%" which I can with the wemo lamps. Pretty quick but things could always be faster when it involves cloud things just by me not being on terrible internet.

There's no issue controlling brightness with the LimitlessLED bulbs.

Looks like people are using scenes to set the color on Echo nowadays.

Here are some that I have seen working...

"Alexa, turn on blue in living room" If you only have one room with blue scene you can also just say
"Alexa, turn on blue" Alexa will match it because it's the only device with "blue" in the name.
“Alexa, turn on My Pink Scene"

Haha, you know you are living in the future, when you confuse a power bank for a full blown ARMbian PC, rofl.

then what is running on the screen? is it a full intel core i7 PC receiving and processing the commands? or is it just showing the logs from the amazon echo?

The screen is just a Microsoft surface pro running Windows 10. I guess you are seeing all the ssdp packets being processed by my scripts, as well as the the REST API so that Echo thinks my script is a Phillips hue bridge.

Phillips Hue has been reversed late last year... someone managed to get the Private Key out of the Phillips HUE microchip, and then made a drone that can take over ALL Phillips Hue lights in your city, see the link below. You can't use AES side channel techniques on LimitlessLED luckily.

cool. so the surface pro runs all your scripts like this? Amazon Echo -> SSDP (network switch UDP) -> Surface Pro -> REST API Scripts -> UDP(network switch) -> LimitlessLED wifi bridge -> 2.4Ghz RF -> Lights

Well, yes, in the development stage. But once I get it developed, then I'll just move the scripts over to a spare eeePC running Centos ( and my PBX ).

I don't know much about the newer lights which have much longer UDP bits being sent to them ... so if I have to read a response back from the latest bridge, I'll have to factor that into the design.

Hi Hamish,

I have some difficulties implementing the v6 protocol in my app (http://enlightme.info).

Whenever I am trying to send a command I get a 01 at the end of the command response instead of 00 and the lamp does not turn off.

I tried the Admin Tool and there it is always 00 at the end and the lamp turns off.

This is the sequence from my program:

Sending UDP (Session Start): 20 00 00 00 16 02 62 3A D5 ED A3 01 AE 08 2D 46 61 41 A7 F6 DC AF D3 E6 00 00 1E

What does the 01 at the end of the response mean?

I am having a bit of difficulty pairing my dual white bulbs with my iBox2 controller. I have the wifi box connected to my home wifi and can see it on my MiLight 3.0 app but when I try to link my bulbs they never blink in response to the link button getting pushed within 3 seconds of turn on

Thoughts?

@LimitlessLED or @richms is the LED in the new V6 bridge a separate controllable LED? Any chance these could be separated from the bridge?

You can control it from the app, not looked into the API for it since I have many more important things to play with right now.

I posted some pics of the bridge before, you should be able to see if you are able to remove it or not from that. Not sure on if its a common anode or cathode for what you may want to replace it with.
