I am contemplating replacing one of the bulbs in my lounge with one of these, so I can preset some less bright light for when we watch a movie but occasionally want a little light in the corner, by which to eat by etc, without getting off the couch and putting on all the lights. I assume I'd need 1 bulb and 1 bridge. The main light switch would still control on and off, but I could also use an app to control it temporarily?

Is that a viable solution? It just saves putting a separate floor or table lamp in.

Yes. They remember what they were dimmed to when powered back on. Unlike the Philips hue which always goes to bright orange when the powers switched on.

Well, ideally when they were turned "on" from the light switch it would be awesome if it were possible they were the same as the other 3 bulbs in that room (IE Preset 1), but from the app, I could click "preset 2" and get a little dimmed light in the corner of the room.

Hi networkn, you only need 1 remote and 1 bulb, no need for all the fancy home automation and fancy apps for that. it comes with double sided tape, so you can sticky the remote holder to the arm of your couch :)

Yes I have some 1100 Lumen RGBWW/CW bulbs, but they are only in the lab at the moment, trying to find a way to get the price and the size of the LED parts down.

If you want 1100 lumens go for the Phillips Hue, otherwise you can go for the RGBWW/CW 8W bulbs at 800 Lumens. $19USD http://www.limitlessled.com/shop/rgbw-ww-cw-light-bulb/

actually it looks like we are not far away in terms of brightness, we are at 8W, Philips hue are at 10W. Hopefully we get there, our goal is to surpass the Hue in terms of brightness and compact size. I'm not sure why their review complained about their Blue and Green. Our RGBWW/CW gives some pretty intense blues and greens. I haven't seen any feedback like that before.

Yeah I know, thats what I meant too by corner lamp. the corner out of 4 in the ceiling, I should have said corner bulb. oh nope you will never get 120W out of an LED, except for those fat daddy bulbs :) and imagine if you had 4 of those 1500Lumens like the latest 25W CFLs :) lol

Hues dont use normal RGB and a white, they have a blue, and then a yellowy green to make white, and then an orange as well. Those are driven by phosphors not a direct LED chip so have wide specturm to get the CRI up, at the expense of being bloody ugly on their own when not making white.

Later ones which we dont get here seem to have gone back to a RGB + white based lamp because so many people hated the colours on them, which for the absurd price should be really good.

Are each of the 4 fixtures switched individually? If not, you will need to replace all 4.

My OCD kicking in - Bulbs grow in the ground, Light is produced by a lamp, a lamp is contained inside a fixture.

Good afternoon all,

I have a v5 Bridge which I have set up to work with Tasker very well.

I recently purchased a v6 Bridge to use my new RGBWW/CW Lamps. Before delving into actually programming them into Tasker, I am just testing how the commands are sent using the Windows Program "Packet Sender", but am running into an issue; I am currently just testing the On Command, but the lights do not turn on, and the response code ends in "01" as opposed to 00 as the documentation states it should. I will admit I am having trouble calculating the checksum (any advice you can give on this is greatly appreciated). Also, is it possible that WB1 & WB2 change quicker than I am calculating/sending the UDP Message (which only takes a few seconds)?

Below are my calculations...

Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

I am busy writing an app to control LimitlessLEd lights and am having hassles getting it to work.

I am writing in VisualStudio 2017 using C#.

I am able to get the SessionStart receiving 28-00-00-00-11-00-02-F0-FE-6B-26-29-66-5F-B8-80-CE-00-01-B5-00-00 after sending startup command.

using the session ids B5 00 I then send command to port 5987 to switch lights on using 80-00-00-00-11-B5-00-00-02-00-31-00-00-00-03-03-00-00-00-01-00-38

{Bridge on} (have tried the RGBWW and RGBW commands as well with no luck )and get response 88-00-00-00-03-00-02-01. No lights on :(

Using the limitlessLed admin app(v6) it does not switch the lights on either.

I found another use for a spare rgbw bulb. I grab the flickelectric spot price and turn the colour of the bulb to reflect the price. So, blue is cheap, and red is expensive. And I then know what my power cost currently is without using their app.

I think the bulb I have is 9W, and I should get something of less Wattage so as not to waste power.
