Yeah just looked at the map and theres almost nothing around here. I powered up a couple of my ones that were in a box and they show my ones at the back of the shed that are plugged in on the workbench I cant get to easily and nothing else. Was a nice idea, shame they never evolved to cope with popularity.

Not willing to try Meshcore? The hardware should be compatible and there is decent coverage in Auckland.

I am, hence the richms nodes that you will see, I was wondering if it was worth putting both up on the roof or not. Have to see if I can find my magnetic cables to flash the card shaped ones because I have misplaced them. The others should all be fine.

You are looking for meshcore these days. Meshtastic has died a death of popularity and failure to evolve.

And yet, when I look at the map around here there are quite a few nodes.

I looked at meshcore. The Heltec v3 device I have here would have to either connect via Bluetooth or USB. Wi-Fi support requires manual build. Not user-friendly, I say. My meshtastic node has been running for months of Wi-Fi with nothing more than just a config change.

Meshtastic is still far bigger in Wellington than MeshCore but everywhere else in NZ it has swung heavily to MeshCore.
