I'd opt for the nano, ok personal opinion but remember the other players DO NOT PLAY MP4, they play some horrid format called AMV for video more info here which is usually some tiny res 96x96 and low framerate.

As for mp3,s the ipods use itunes to catergorise the music, you cannot just load tunes into it, there is an alternative interface called Rockbox which does allow this however. the cheap ones usually just have the files loaded on liek a disk.

The ipods have a loud headphone output, often the cheap ones have a very low output. as for the build quality, the real thing is much better. From the last look at the "laser" it didn't even have a standard headphone jack! i'd possibly avoid that one.

The one on trademe interests me! Nokia battery? i wonder if the real batteries work in it (you'll fine they bundle it with a "aftermaket" nokia battery just for simplicity, samsung chip is the chipset used inside the unit though the actual unit will be made by Chow Hu chinese company (fake name), Samsung chipsets are not bad. I'm interested on how think the trademe one is.
