Anybody else finding that http://newzealand.rs-online.com is pretty much unusable at least the last couple of days?

When it's working it's ridiculously slow, and half the time it either times out, gives an empty response, a 5xx error, or some error generated by the rs-online site itself.

Just me?

I don't know what's rs-online.com but FWIW it's not loading here (on TelstraClear), so I will go to bed without knowing...

[Quick search tells me it's an electronics distributor]

Use element14 instead imo

I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup.

E14 charge too much shipping for small orders.

Element14 does free shipping for orders over $45, and the Pie is $48. Also they do not charge you shipping for items on back order.

For a number of years I do not use RS unless I have to. Lately they have improved on datasheets, but still too much service guys stuff and not enough electronic engineer stuff. I know our account manager Mike very well and he knows where I stand, agrees also, and he was recently employed to fix the issues customers have with their service.

My only issue with Element14 is they often do site maintenance while NZ is awake, otherwise they are great and on par with Digikey and Mouser - their only real competition.

Yes, RS is very slow for me as well (on XNet).

I'm not buying a Raspi.

Just a handful of parts.  If I was spending close to $45, I'd just use Element14.

Looks like they've twigged now that something is wrong, hopefully...
