I had been listening to Radio Live via internet radio on my Sonos - worked fine until recently. Now Sonos says that Radio Live file cannot be played as it is an unsupported format. Other internet radio stations continue to play ok. Have Radio Live changed their internet file format recently? Any ideas? Anyone else affected?

Are you streaming it using the TuneIn Radio app integrated into Sonos? I guess there's no other way. You may like to see this thread that was started earlier this month:

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Hi Dafman,

Mediaworks have (over the few weeks) changed their streaming protocol in a move to force listeners to stream only via their radio apps.
This new encryption is not compatible with TuneIn Radio, therefore as a result SONOS is currently unable to stream their associated radio stations (10 in total).

Luckily we have still have 99,990 other stations from around the world to listen too ;-)

Ok, thanks for that, appreciated. Silly marketing ploy. Can't be bothered getting their app and trying to play it via 'line in' on the Sonos. So no more radio live.

are you sure about that.
mediaworks have been having some problems with their streams (for most of their stations) for a couple of weeks now. Even trying to play directly from each stations website doesn't work (although I understand some stations apps still work).

Thursday and Friday last week they had them up and running again - and they worked in TuneIn Radio - but today (Saturday) they are off air again (even from the stations websites)

If it was a case they are trying to force users to their stations apps that would be ridiculous as Radio Live don't currently have an app.

knowing how extremely badly mediaworks manage their TV3 on-demand service perhaps ridiculousness is not to be unexpected.  :-)

Radio Live and other mediaworks stations are up and running again in TuneIn Radio and from their websites.

Can't comment on Sonos though as I don't use it.
