$50 on eBay. Good luck finding someone in NZ to do it.

Friend at work left the electronics service industry more than 10 years ago, he is now 50-60 years old.  He left the industry because it is not cost effective to repair electronics, it is all modular replacement by low paid workers.  And the cost of getting pricing for parts often makes it not worth quoting as you don;t know if you would get the job.

I work at a company that sells electronics world wide.  For 10 years we no longer give out board level service info, it is all modular replacement.

While the LCD is a module, the value of the remote does not make it worth fixing (by a repair shop) especially since it is such a low volume product (for NZ).

Probably the best you can try is a mobile phone repair shop, but you would likely have to source the LCD yourself, e.g. off eBay.

I started my electronics hobby in a TV repair shop in the 80's.  Back then it was worth it.  Today it is not, except in a country like South Africa where people cannot afford replacement.
