Hi there,
I have a DVD full of mp3s and I want to make a word list of the tracks, how can I do this? Someone suggested downloading winamp but before I do is there anyother way to create a word list of the tracks on my DVD. I've copyied the tracks onto my hard drive and all the names appear in the folder I've stored them in, how do I copy all the track names into one list I can print out, without having copy each track name individually?

The simplest way is to just use good 'ol DOS command line

Go to Start, Run and type CMD to get a command prompt.

assuming your DVD rom is the D: drive type

d:

dir >c:\list.txt

Which will create a text file of the entire directory listing on the DVD called list.txt on your c: drive. You can then import this list into something like excel, get rid of the columns you don't want and sort it in any way you want.

There is bound to be plenty of programs to do things in a fancier way..

If your lazy like me, you can open the folder in explorer so that you can see all the names, and just hit printscreen, open it in paint (or equivalent).

Crop it and then print it :D

Actually, I've done what was suggested above and a list pops up with nothing in it ? I don't think its working, any other tips?

If you go to Windows Explorer or My Computer and click on your C drive there should be a file called list.txt if you click on that the file should open and you should see the list of all the files.

Opps its e drive, my cdrom is e drive and I did what you said and its telling me it can't find the path specified.

Maybe I'm typing it all in wrong.

Should there be spaces?

So should the first thing I type be e: then should I press enter

This would bring me to a new line with E:\> then should I type dir >c:\list.txt
