Hi All,

A bit of a reach I think this will be, but will see how you lot are.

I have this TV model Samsung LA46c750r2m, a friend gave me a TV Camera for it. As I wanted to use it for Skype. I have a smart tv and thought this would work on it. But a quick google around, I think the tvis not as smart as I first thought it was.

Can I get Skype on my Tv is the main question, its plugged in and the light comes on but I dont have any Skype app on it.

If it's not a smart tv you could try using this: Logitech Skype Camera for TV.

Going to give Samsung a call tonight and see if I can upgrade my Samsung App to the Smart Hub, a guy at JB Hifi said they could help...worth a try at least.

I think that theirs is a 40" Samsung but I do not know what model.   Basically as already pointed out it just plugs into the HDMI connector and shows up as another device.  It connects to Skype via WiFi (can't remember if it also supports a physical network connection).

The device also comes with a small remote control for navigating the Skype menu.

Yes it also has an ethernet port for ethernet connection and if the TV is off the camera will still ring to tell you if there is an incoming call.

Yep, oh well. I also checked by ringing up Samsung to see if you can do a firmware upgrade.  Nope was the answer.
Cheers everyone.
