It is cases like this that make you look at the stupidness of the average person, and realize half of the people in the world are stupider than that....

Why was the stovetop on and unattended?
Why was the vacuum on the feckin bench? Just sweep the cereal you spilled onto the floor our into the sink...

If their initial suit fails perhaps they could consider suing the stove manufacturer for not making it vacuum cleaner proof. Or the pot manufacturer for making the pot too light, or the electricity company for their product causing a fire. Goodness me the possibilities are almost endless if you remove operator responsibility and common sense from the occasion.

I guess when it connected to SkyNet and became aware it received the "commit suicide" command instead of "kill all humans"

If you read the story, their argument was that it had finsihed cleaning. They turned it off, picked it up and put it on the bench. Not sure why they would do that, aprt from perhaps getting it off the floor, so it isn't tripped over. It then at some stage it restarted, and got stuck on the stove which was on. But the question really should be, why was the stove left on and unattended for that to occur?

I read it that they spilt something on their bench, put the vacuum up there to clean the bench, it finished and shutdown, and then started back up to go an clean the hot unattended stovetop.

As said, stupid is stupid.
