when I looked into it a while back none did. I dont think they will for some time if at all. They use an epub format. The Kobo can read it and if you have a Kindle Fire you can sideload overdrive on it then you can use library books.
There may be other options now but none I know of yet.

Quick look at a couple of NZ libraries sites show they mostly use EPub format

Kindle doesn't support that so you need to use a program like Calibre to convert

Calibre is an ugly beast of an application, but converts formats well. Plugins are available. DRM.
I created an account for the Auckland library ebook system and was sorely disappointed with the number of titles available.

This annoys me.

In order to read library books on my Kindle (ebook reader) I need to use Calibre to convert the files from .epub to .mobi

Doing this strips the DRM from the file and will never expire.

At this point, you are essentially a pirate as you have copied the ebook into a format that you can keep forever.

I want to legitimately borrow ebooks from the Library and read on my device of choice without resorting to 'piracy'.

My only solution is to give up and read the .epubs on my phone :(

Don't be silly, why would libraries have books available in the most widely used format in the e book world...!!

As mentioned above, email jeff@amazon.

It's the publishers that put restrictions on what libraries can and cannot loan, and it's especially difficult with eBooks. (For example they may allow some titles in a series, but not others.)

Kindle devices are strictly for Amazon sales and US libraries.

Also as mentioned Calibre is the way around it- albeit not entirely legally.

I use it to get around the opposite problem- read my Amazon purchases on my Kobo Glo
