There seems to be a few of people (not me) here who already have 3D printers and probably more people as they get cheaper, so I thought maybe there should be a topic for links to download models (not sure if it really belongs in this section though).

This was in the Driven section of yesterday's Weekend Herald ...

Super Happy Printing Time
First it was Porsche, now Honda has got in on the "download your own car" act with the launch of its new Honda 3D website (www.honda-3d.com) that allows 3D printer owners to download and print models of a bunch of the company's old concept cars.

One the website now are the files for 1994's FSR concept, 1999's Fuya-Jo, the 2003 Kiwami, the 2007 Puyo, and the 2013 NSX concept, although the Super Ulta Daydreams video suggest there will be more to come.

A quick Google search finds the Porsche one they mention ...

Porsche wants you to 3D print & customize your own Cayman
Thanks to 3D printers, now you can make things right on your desktop. "A dream can only come true, if you give it a shape." says Porsche as well.

Porsche has just released 3D printing data for the Cayman S for free. If you have access to a 3D printer, you can now create, print and colorize your personal Cayman S. You can also use 3D modeling software to change the measurement of the car and scale up / down the model. "Feel free to get creative." notes Porsche. This is really cool of them to do. After printing you can send the pictures of your creation to the Porsche or post them on Twitter with the hashtag #3DCayman.

Follow this link to the Porsche site to download the stl file for 3D printing.

Hi, if you are looking for 3D models for free, you can check www.3dprintdrafts.com, I've bumped on the web last week and there are some free models and they do not require registration. Also I've found more of them, www.thingiverse.com/thing:171282
