Lately, my beloved Sony Walkman NWZ-B152F went through the washing machine, and now the screen is dead. I was able to recover all my music, and was wondering what a good sub-$100 replacement would be, as I hate using my Galaxy S3 to listen to music. I just want a dedicated mp3 device for listening to music and has at least 2GB.

the same thing happened to my sons ipod and in the end i bought a LG L3 for $70. It's small and light and it has a 3.2 touch screen and i just added a microsd card for storage. He uses it only as a MP 3 player and he dosent miss his ipod at all. I couldnt find just a MP3 player that had the features the phone did for the price.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Its a funny old world as I really rate my S3 for sound quality. Not as highly as my trusty Cowon but its still up there. With over 30gb of music I can take it running and never be short of an album or two. PlayerPro is my app of choice and with this I'm struggling to think of a better alternative for you.

I never said the S3 is bad for listening to music, I in general don't like it, as I would much rather have all my music on a dedicated music device which won't normally brick, and has a long lasting battery, as my S3 in general doesn't last long, albeit longer then my old T903 telecom phone.

I really just want to know of a cheap usb, like Philips or whatever brand is better.

Also talking about battery, my Sony Walkman NWZ-B152F had a battery which didn't need to be charged often, and was great on car trips.
