I have a Roku3 which works fantastic & have recently got a Chromecast mainly for BBC iplayer. I control the Chromecast through a Samsung TabS. I have no problem watching BBC on the tablet and I can also get the chromecast to work providing I swicth it off & turn it on when I want to use it. On the tablet I get a google play services error code  15 if I try to use the chromecast when left on for more than a few hours (only with BBC). Clearing the Google Play & Services does't make any difference nor does using Fake GPS
I use Unotelly & have router linskys X3000 (Hall) linked to a Linskys Wag120 (Lounge) The home is ethernet cabled through a Lynxnet Box.
Any suggestions or do I need to use a wireless VPN with a dd-wt router?  Thanks

When using a chrome cast you will need to use it through a DD-WRT router (or one of the ones on this site) with configuration changes done to it to make the Google DNS go to Unotelly DNS. The Chromecast has the Google DNS servers baked into it, it does not receive them from the router.

This is how I have it setup and the only problem I have is with netflix sometime freezing on loading on the chromecast which rebooting it seems to fix.

Hope this helps.
