Anyone know of an extension / add-on that puts a download button on the youtube clip allowing for mp4 download?

I have one for Ffox but cannot find something suitable for Safari.

Haven't used it in while so not sure how updated it is or if it's Yosemite ready but I use one called "fastest tube"

Actually, I knew that and didn't want to use it as reviews say it plays ads. BUT, discovered there is an option to turn the ads off.

So - just tried it and (at this stage), I'm happy.

I tend to download whole playlists at once ('let's play' 12 part gaming playthroughs etc) and put them on my tablet for watching on my long train commutes - yes i'm weird

not an answer to your problem as I don't use browser plugins to do this - not sure they can handle a playlist ?

I use a piece of software on my Mac called "Aimersoft Youtube Downloader".  The free version has no limitations at all that I'm aware of (I've been using it reasonably frequently for years).  It also downloads in MP4 straight away which is nice (some download in Flash Video first and then convert).
