Hi there, if I convert a collection of iPad epub books to mobi for a Kindle, will it keep the original epub file and make a mobi copy or does it replace the original?

Cheers

It just creates a new file in the format you want.

The old file/format is still there.

Calibre is a brilliant piece of software for handling ebooks!

Calibre (for Mac, at least) is an indispensable, powerful, expandable, awesome horrible ugly POS. I use it because there's nothing else even remotely as useful for Mac/Kindle.

I can confirm Calibre will place the converted files in a new folder, and place a copy of the original in same folder
(epub + mobi in this case)

Handy for me as I can also use the epub file with 3rd party phone ebook readers, and the files are all on one place when you are searching 6 months later
