Lately I've been thinking about biting the bullet and buying an iPod.
In particular the latest iPod Nano (8GB Version)

8GBUp to 2,000 songs, up to 7,000 photos, up to 8 hours of video, or some of each

$329

Up to 24 hours of audio
Up to 5 hours of video

Does anyone have any better ideas? Thoughts or suggestions?
In particular where to buy - I'm thinking online from Apple would be the best.

I'm getting the 4GB version - free from Westpac Hotpoints... it pays to use your credit card!

Esle I would go to DSE or Apple direct as you have already alluded too.

I would go to a retail store, atleast you have a face to deal with if anything goes wrong!

Surely buying it direct would be the best option? It comes with free laser engraving too..

The only thing laser engraving does is lower the resale value of the ipod.

Did you consider the ipod classic 80gb? It's in the same price range, and can be used as backup for data. Better value in my opinion.
