For some reason the Voyage is not available to be shipped here. Do we know when it will be?

And if I order using a forwarding service or relatives in the US, will it work ok here when I get it?

I can't see why it'd be a problem. I've had Kindles from the US, UK, and NZ, they work the same.

I got one awhile ago through Geekzone link and youshop.
All good. I like the page turn areas on the side and the back lighting. My old kindle was pre- touch version

Once you go to the Voyage, you won't want to go back to the paperwhite or older models. The screen resolution is a lot better.
I think buying from Amazon directly will be the best deal. Although DSE seems to sell the other models cheaper from time to time, but that may not last with the drop in the exchange rate. Lots of information on the best way to ship the Kindle Voyage to NZ can be sought by a google search.

It's a shame it is so expensive. If you add the leather origami cover you will be over the tax threshold.

I've had one since the release date imported with Youshop with no issues. Is excellent, but I don't think the page turn mechanism is anywhere near as good as the keyboard kindle that was originally released.

I was so happy for a moment when I saw this on the Amazon page for the Voyage:

However, my joy was quickly dashed during checkout where it finally said it can't ship to NZ. Sigh... I wonder why the page states it can, when it obviously can't. Bit of an oversight by Amazon perhaps?

It's easy enough to get it shipped via Youshop. There are some online guides to how to do it if you google it too.

I'm afraid not. Kindle is tied to Amazon.

However, you can upload personal documents to the device (PDF's, etc).

Thanks for that. Didn't realise it was a NZ Post service. Price is pretty good too.

I did get a quote from another service but it was silly money. Thought it was one of those services when I saw it mentioned above so ignored it. Saves me hassling my relatives in the UK to grab me one and send out I suppose!

Why don't you consider the new Kobo Glo HD. Released in NZ a few weeks ago, it has the same screen resolution as the Voyage and is available for around $200. I purchased one and love the new HD resolution, glo reading light. Small form factor, feels great in hand.

If you are heavy with Kobo just get the Kobo Glo HD.     It is possible to put epubs on Kindle using Calibre.  Search Calibre and drm removal and you should find how.  My Alf Apprentice has been a great help to me.  Everyone needs a good apprentice at times
