Hi everyone,

I bought my Galaxy Gear S2 Classic from Ebay to pair with my Galaxy S6 about a month ago.

It had been working fine until the Gear S2 got its software updated about a week ago. The initial issue was battery drain, it drained it's battery within 24 hours! So I went to the setting for a reset. I chose 'light reset' rather than 'factory reset'.

On Gear S2, I could see that my Gear has reactivation enabled and it asked me to log in my same Samsung Account on Gear app.

In the setting up process through Gear app, it seemed ok until I tried to log in my Samsung Account. However, the process of settingup stoped here. After about 5 mins of 'Please wait...', it goes back to signin page. I have not been able to get solution for this from Samsung service centre or local service centre.

My Samsung Account login details are correct, as I could see Gear S2 in my products after log in to Samsung account web.

Has anyone experienced what I am having? Would you please advise me how to solve this logging-in issue?

Cheers,

Thank you jeffnz,

Yes I had been there, but the issue I am having is quite different.

I purchased my Gear s2 classic brand new and had been paired with my S6 perfectly until I reset Gear s2 classic (light reset on Gear S2 Classic).  Because setting up process has not completed yet, I can not go into Gear app to change anything.  Gear S2 setting up is stuck at Samsung Account login.

As Samsung customer service suggested, I have just done a factory reset for my Galaxy s6 and tried to setup Gear S2 through Gear app on S6.  But the issue has not gone.  Still 'Please wait...' about 5-6 mins then goes back to Samsung Account login.

I do not think it is about reactivation lock.  On Samsung website, I logged in Samsung account with same email address and password and then clicked My Products.  I could see there Galaxy Gear S2 Classic.  Basically, I should be able to login Samsung Account with the same email and passwords on Gear app on my S6.

Does anyone having a similar issue?

[update]

I did try to set up my Gear s2 classic with my wife's Note 3 today.  Surprisingly, I was able to set it up with Note 3 without a hiccup.  There is no difference what I did on both Galaxy S6 and Note 3.  Very strange.  It looks like my Galaxy S6 is at fault somehow.

My Galaxy S6 had a terrible reception issue.  Samsung call center could not help.  I even sent it to service center for inspection through Spark, but it returned as they could not replicate the issue.  The issue persisted.  In the end, I had to set up a signal booster in my home.  It was about 2~3 months of dropping calls and missed calls and frustration of not being able to fix it by Samsung, Spark nor myself.

I will send it to Samsung authorised service center through Spark tomorrow.

The Samsung authorised service center could not replicate the issue on my Galaxy S6.  The problem is still there.  At the moment I have disabled the reactivation lock.  I just went to Setting>Find my Gear on Samsung Gear app and tried to enable Reactivation lock, but not possible to log in (5mins of 'Please Wait' box and goes back to login page).

Reactivation lock is a great idea and neat feature, but I could not enable it.
