Pre-ordered a few units for my new house build to put around the house. I have gone with WiFi modules but Zwave is also available. It's NZ compliant and has 3 x USB Type-C connectors. Glass switches and smoke alarm will be released sometime next year.

S? Smart things? sockITz mentioned that they are working on SmartThings integration as well. Their products are firmware up gradable.

They look awesome. My house mostly uses vertical powerpoints rather than horizontal ones, and I've yet to see a powerpoint with USB charging that is available in a vertical form. :-(

Zorry, no, I mean I can't ztand productz that try and be hip or cool by adding a 'z' to their product name.

This product is cool enough that it didn't need to try hard by adding a z to the end of all it's product namez..

It'z one of my OCD pet hatez. :)

I wish my comment meant what you though it meant, it would make me much less lame. :P

They look very cool - I wonder how much of that functionality is controllable via Z-Wave commands? I.e. obviously switch on/off will be supported, but am wondering about the RGB LED and monitoring of the USB port usage. Seems like a pretty reasonable price, think I might have to seriously consider getting one or two to try out!

The company has been around for a while and their existing generation USB power sockets have great reviews in terms of battery charging performance. I asked the owner late last year about the product when he was teasing it. It took him quite a while to get it certified and have the documentation prepared which is now prepared. His first product launched on kick starter as well IIRC.

There is a couple of things I would love to see if it could do:

There are some devices in my house that should trigger the house alarm if unplugged, regardless of the arming state of the alarm.

I do not unplug my charger, I want the socket to monitor the current draw of my NFC charger, and trigger the kettle when I remove the device from the nfc charger.

Now I just need a kettle that will turn on when I turn on the socket instead of needing me to push a button, and will not try to boil when there is no water in it.

I thought I did? I cannot guarantee if there will be any further delays. He seems to have gotten through all the legal procedures in regards to the product certificate for both Australia and NZ. His first product went well so I am hoping his second time frame delivery will be just as good. I am not in a hurry either way.

Very sorry... my lazy reading led me to believe you were involved in the resale of them locally. I think they look really neat but there is SO much cool stuff in this I have doubts and both price and timeframe... I guess we'll see.

There are vertical ones available, but you lose a normal power socket in exchange for the USB socket.
