Hi all, Happy 2016!!!

Looking to toss out my Logitech indoor and outdoor cameras and get them replaced.

I will be purchasing the fantastic blue iris software, android app and windows.

Features :
- Indoor and outdoor cameras
- Amazing night vision
- Amazing quality
- No 3rd party subscriptions
- POE would be great, but not essential

What do you guys have?

I use axis ip cameras, the second generation with edge storage built into the cameras (64 gb per camera) axis camera station to setup and the usual access via android app. Best thing is that as long as the cameras have power they operate irrespective of network conditions. I used to have problems previously where the video server would stop runNing = no recordings

Just unplugging them from the PowerPoint,if that's what u asking? POE

Haven't put them on trade just yet, it's 1 indoor master system with camera and 1 outdoor night vision camera. Very easy to insall.

UBNT cams work well with the UBNT software. UBNT software is average compared to Blue Iris. Also to get an RTSP you have to run the Unifi controller and pull the stream from the controller rather than direct from the camera which is just a waste IMO. Also, when I last tried there was an issue pulling the audio stream too so seems a waste/

Hikvision cams are awesome - better image than UBNT. Also, you can pull a normal rtsp stream from them which is what you need to do with Blue Iris.

3 Foscam IR bullet external cams here + 1 Foscam PTZ indoor controlled by BlueIris with android app. Initially the cameras were on wifi but signal quality was tempermental depending on time of day (possibly interference from nearby wifis). Got all connected to Lan and its a perfect setup.

A friend recently spent mega bucks with a professional security monitoring company installing their gear with less than half the features I have got!

I just have cheap aliexpress 720p POE cameras and a cheap NVR. works fine.

UHD: UBNT FTW!

UniFi Video is a very average solution with average software and very average cameras. There are much better solutions for less money.

My recommendation for low(er) cost equipment is Dahua or Hikvision. Wrap your preferred hardware or software NVR app (Dahua's SmartPSS is good for a free app) or just opt for cameras with microsd storage and you're away.
