Hi.

Wifes wristwatch is on the verge of dying and she has aked about whether she should consider a smart watch as she wears an UP24 band on her other hand which she doesn't really like:

Priorities are:

1) Square face (Not a deal breaker)
2) Reasonable HR monitoring
3) Battery Life
4) Size (She is relatively petite).
5) Not an Apple anything.

We dont' mind waiting a little if something is coming which is particularly awesome.

Budget ideally under $500.

Does she want full time HR monitoring, or just selected?

I have a garmin vivoactive which is square, built in gps, water proof, simple apps and activity tracking.  But it uses a chest strap for HR monitoring.  Supposed to be more accurate, but not 24x7 - costs about $350.  Pretty similar to the Fitbit surge

Is HR monitoring a deal breaker?

The Activite Pop only does sleep and steps but in all other ways is actually a watch.

WIFE = Washing, Ironing, Food, Entertainment.
Smartwatch == none of those things.

Result = Keeping Wife.
