Thought I would share my mp3 player door bell. Wanted to have something different.

Built about 2006. Check out the video below.

Brilliant, love it. I could see some REAL fun could be had with that at Halloween...

Now create a door bell to clean up your kitchen bench lol! laughing

The plan is to have a picture on the wall with flashing red eyes.

And thanks for fixing the link.

Thanks

Yes haven't tried Halloween.

When the kids were younger we used to put Happy Birthday songs on it.

Getting to that age where might need a shot gun blast on it.

Now it's made you money. I let the advert on youtube play all the way through ;)

Two questions:

1 - Are all those songs on the MP3 and just played in the order they come in.

2 - How do you get the MP3 to play and stop inside x seconds?

I bet your neighbors hate you.

I just have a wireless doorbell and plugged the indoor part into a timer that I set to sensible hours to stop it ringing for the 9am on a weekend bible carriers.

Haha No money for me, copyright songs on it.

1 - The songs play in order sometimes, or I can set it to play random.

2 - The mp3 player is controlled by a PLC. Each song is about 20 seconds long.

Neighbors are pretty good at the moment, haven't added a sub woofer to the system yet for maximum impact.

Timer a great idea for the weekend sleep in.

Very nicely done!

Next version - put a fingerprint scanner on it, or facial recognition camera above it, so you know who's ringin'
