Have this Crack + Speedball https://i.imgur.com/uWnxhp1.jpg

My new rig's motherboard is this with the SupremeFX onboard DAC/AMP https://www.asus.com/nz/Motherboards/Z170-PRO-GAMING/

Hoping someone can dumb this down for me because I am reluctant to sell the amp. Basically here's the summary, and keep in mind I am using the same 980 Ti Strix graphics cards for both old and new PC. I changed everything else:

  • On my old PC, I was not getting any interference from the old mobo lineout to my Bottlehead Crack
  • There is also no interference via my Asus Essence STX on old PC to my Bottlehead Crack
  • I just recently changed to a new rig, and I am getting buzzing/hissing interference. Pretty sure its from my PC, as everytime i move my mouse / high CPU or GPU activity -- I get the interference. Seems like it's coming from the PSU / GPU coil whine. I am running the Crack directly to the PC motherboard lineout
  • Plugged my HD650 directly to my new PC lineout (green coded), and not getting interference
  • Plugged my mobile phone directly to the bottlehead crack -- no interference

Unfortunately, I do not have many equipment to test with, but luckily:

  1. Someone will be lending me his external USB ODAC; I really hope this resolves the issue
  2. He will also lend me a Ground Loop Isolator which he 99% believes should resolve my issue

Sounds like a ground loop to me also. You could try plugging your phone in to the bottlehead crack again, but plug the USB cable in between the phone and PC for power. Chances are you'll then get the hum.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.
