I quite like the looks of this and I'm tempted. Comes in at US$98 shipped to NZ though, and not sure if I can justify that.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

I'm in exactly the same boat as you @floydbloke. Saw it, wanted it, managed to restrain myself from buying it just long enough to decide I probably couldn't justify it. Especially since I have just bought a laser measure and questions would have been asked.
Bosch used to do a digital tape measure which looked really good, but it doesn't seem to be available any more. Most of the other digital tape measures seem to be of questionable accuracy / clearly an OEM lot out of China and re-badged. There's also the Quickdraw, but I haven't found one in metric.
I mainly want one to help reduce parallax. Some of the projects I (try) and do really do come down to millimeter/half millimeter measures and I've never been able to really nail it.
