Hi There!

 

I bought an RC Car with 2 x 2S Lipo Batteries, and an Imax B6 Charger which I was shown how to use to charge them, however, it's been a while and I can't quite recall what the settings should be to safely but quickly charge them.

 

 

 

Batteries are 

 

 

 

 

 

Factory Spec 7.4V 6500mAh 60C Traxxas

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyone have one who can tell me ?

Safe discharge on lipo 3.3v but recommended to cut off around 3.5-3.7 per cell

 

Max charge 4.2v per cell,

 

 

 

Older batteries were recommended to charge at 1c which would be 6.5amps 

 

And in your case to 8.4v

 

there is no risk from charging slower if you are limited by your power supply, it will just take more time.

 

 

 

Most chargers are limited by what you can supply them with, I.e you need a specialised power supply to get 20amps dc 

 

However car batteries are usually the easiest option. 

 

 

 

Most modern Lipo chargers you select the cell count and then max charge amps and away you go, 

 

If it has a jst plug for individual cell voltage plug that in also and it will make sure to charge and discharge evenly 

 

without over or under volting one of the cells. 

 

 

 

Edit SAFTEY NOTE, Please check your chargers settings match your battery chemistry i.e above settings are for Lipo , Lion and others have different safety thresholds.
