Hi there,

I accidentally put my cable tracer on a live circuit and as expected, it went pop. I'm hoping the obvious damage is the one capacitor I can see is buggered.

Click to see full size Hopefully that photo worked. It's a 1J100 and the only place I can find them is bulk lots from China. Is this the kind of thing Jaycar would stock? or is there a better place online?

That's a 0.1uF ( 100nF ) 100V metalised film capacitor. Tolerance 5%.

Something like this should do the trick https://www.jaycar.co.nz/100nf-250vac-metallised-polypropylene-x2-capacitor/p/RG5236 although the tolerance is 10% - shouldn't make much difference unless it's some kind of timing circuit.
