I'm going to go with thermal blockout roller blinds for 4 of the narrow (530w*1430h) windows in my lounge and I'd be nuts to not have them motorised with remote controls.
So far that's easy... The remote control however is an RF one, not IR...
If it was IR, I could use a learning remote or RM3 to integrate with the home automation controller... Given these are RF, I think the simple option would be to get a spare remote (or the RF wall unit) and graft on something to the button contacts ... Something like a Zwave shutter controller ( http://activeautomation.co.nz/tkb-tz08-roller-shutter-controller )
However, W-wave gear is pricey... Is there another simple option to expose the blind up/down to an automation system? Something that could integrate with HAbridge perhaps?
Any and all suggestions welcome... (including for specific battery powered blind motors)
Cheers - N
