Hi

My house was broken into and my Kindle paperwhite was stolen.  A friend said I needed to delete my account, which I duly did, but of course now I can't access the purchased books on my tablet.  Also I will probably buy another Kindle.   Whoever has the KIndle won't be able to download anything as I've stopped the credit card that was linked to my Amazon account.

Can anyone help with how I would get those books back?

Thanks

think too late now but you could use chat or email Amazon. What you should have done was deregister your kindle from your account.  Mind you I am not happy with their support as they don't seem to understand English now days

Thanks ... I checked my tablet and mobile and all purchases are showing after, so I must have just deleted the device, thankfully.

I assume I can add a new one when the time comes.

Thanks again.

Ok thanks. I will probably get another as it's so convenient .....

Can the be locked like a tablet so that thieving toe rags can't steal them?

The Kindle was on my bed beside the tablet, but tablet locked with number code and not stolen

Thanks again

Contact Amazon. They can probably undelete the account and deregister the stolen kindle.

I've been looking at the website and am confused. Though I'd have to say not functioning 100% since the break in ...

Think I did manage to deregister the kindle ... can see the books on my other devices.
Thanks

Just for future reference for anyone reading this thread: in case you lose your Kindle you can deregister it. No need to delete your account. And yes, you can set a PIN on your Kindle.
