From what I have read, the gen-3 bulb has better colour saturation in the greens and yellows. Anyone selling them here?

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

Not that I have been able to find. Certainly the big retailers like Noel Leeming, Mitre 10 and Bunnings that stock Hue don't have Gen 3 colour bulbs. All I got was a blank stare when I asked if they were getting them. It appears that Philips is dumping their old stuff here.

If colours are important, the arilux wifi lamp off aliexpress has the brightest ones I have come across in the cheap lamps, not got any hues here to compare to, but its way better than the low output on red from the likes of the limitless ones etc. Really philips are shooting themselves in the foot with their prices and slowness at getting things here.

Can the Arilux bulbs be controlled by an Amazon Echo or Dot? Also is 8W the highest power available, and is there a bayonet fitting option.

Cheers,

Pete.

No bayonet available, works straight away with alexa and google by linking to the app's account. Not got working with smart things yet and most people seem to just be reflashing the microcontroller in them to get them controlled by other things which I dont really want to be doing unless someone finds how to do it without opening them up.

Not seen more than that but I just put more lamps around the place.

And Noel Leeming, but only in a starter pack. Funny thing was the sku was the same but the 3rd gen bulbs were cheaper than the gen 2 bulbs.
I have gone a different route and installed Hue 'Aphelion' downlights. They have only just become available here as well. Only white, but pretty pleased with them so far.

You have to wonder why they are still so expensive, considering how much a non wifi philips B22, or E27 LED bulb has dropped in price.
