Multi-account support for Google Home was released 12 months ago in US and so I expected it to be available here by now, but perhaps not! I bought my GH from Dick Smith (Kogan) in Australia last month, selling the idea to my significant other that she would be able to access her own calendar and features such as Find-My-Phone with voice commands. She 'loses' her phone 3-4 times a day around the house, so this was a big plus feature.

No matter what I try on her Galaxy S6 phone (also tried unsuccessfully on an iPhone 6S with her account), nothing happens. The screens just flicker and no errors, nothing.

I've tried lots of help online here and here and here, but no good.

Has anyone in NZ managed to get multi-account configured yet?

Thanks
Gary

I've had multi account support configured for the last 12 months since it came out.

Is your wife's phone set to Australian or US English? If not, then you can't set Google Assistant up to work with the GH. Sorry if this is telling you how to suck eggs.

Yes, we have multi account set up on our Google Homes.

Multi account works for me as well.

You basically need to set you phone language to US English from memory. And I think? something else to US as well.
I just followed internet instructions so to allow access on my phone to shortcuts and the extra features Google Home has in the USA.

I recall shortcuts took a bit of faffing around as it wasn't quite available where I thought it would be, but all worked in the end.

Ahh yeah I forgot that point. NZ isn't supported by Google Assistant, so obviously if you have your phones are set to NZ you won't have it working on your phone either.

English (UK) is also a good option if you can't tolerate an Australian or US accent.

Thanks for all your encouraging replies! I obviously need to try harder.  I did change the language and location to US, then UK and even AUS at some point, but I must be doing something wrong so I'll try again. I'll report back later...

Thanks for all the recent advice. I uninstalled the Home app from both Android and iPhone, reset GH. Changed both phone locations and language as in US, then installed the Home app on both phones and connected to GH and went through the wizards. All good this time - the second one was able to link their account and it's all working perfectly now! cool

My next annoyance is not being able to cast Netflix onto my Sony Android TV from Google Home. Try asking GH and it will say 'Ok. Playing (requested episode) from Netflix on (TV name). Sorry, I can't play Netflix on Android TV yet'. surprised Googling that comment reveals a known issue with Android TV and the built-in ChromeCast. I tried adding an external Chromecast to the same TV and GH can cast a Netflix episode to that, proving the point. Lots of Android TV owners are complaining online and rightly so. Who to blame though: Google - the maker of Android TV software, Sony - who integrated the Android TV system into their hardware, or Netflix themselves. It messes with my head to need an external Chromecast plugged into a TV which already has CC built-in, in order to cast Netflix to it yell

If you have an account using Gsuite (Other than a standard Gmail account) then

Go into your Admin panel, and click Apps. Then go in to Additional Google Services, and find “Web & App Activity” and turn it on.
