I am a "podcast newbie" but would like to listen to "The District" podcasts from Stuff on the Google Home.

I tried just saying "OK Google, play The District podcast but it came up with some US-centric thing. How do I get it to play the podcast I am interested in, does it need to be downloaded to my phone first?

Thanks.

the problem you have is stuff is not a service google home uses. what you need is to be able to connect to a service via google home, and then play what you want, google home supports play music, spotify tunein and a few others.

dont think you can cast to it either.

it looks like its avaliable on spotify though so you can get an account (free one should work) and play it via that

ok google play the district episode x on spotify

i dont have spotify so cant test it works

I use a Podcast app on my phone to help with the commute - Podcast Addict.

When I want to play a podcast on my google home, I tend to use this App and cast it.

I've tried getting Google Home to play that podcast on Spotify, but it seems to want to play a song called District 1.

Using the App means I get to play the precise podcast and episode that I want.

You can cast to a Google Home.

OP just needs to get the podcast on a podcast app (take your pick - I use Beyond Pod) and cast it to the Google home.
