Got 8" Lenovo Smart Display for Xmas :-)

I replaced a Google Home with it.

First impressions are it's a very nice device and I love the display (I have it showing a slideshow of photos when not being used). It does all the Google Home did and of course confirms on the display.

If I say Hey Google, turn on the TV (I have a Harmony Home Elite connected as a skill) it turns on the TV and then shows me other controls for that skill which is nice.

The only area where I think it's not quite as good as the Google Home is voice recognition. I seem to have to speak slower to be understood and I don't think it's an accent issue with the GH seemed to understand me very well.  But a nice pressie in all.

This post doesn't count unless it includes photos :-)

OK

Here is the default display showing photos from my Google Photos album

I then asked it to turn on the Bluray player

Then asked for the weather

Then asked who is the President of the USA :-)

And then pressed About Donald Trump :-)

Can also ask it to play Youtube videos and music from your subscribed music services. The audio is pretty good.

Half of the USA population is searching for that button.

I think it is wrong about Donald's height.  Maybe his net worth, too. Don't trust it.

Looks like the same UI as the Google Home Hub. It's Lenovo rather than Logitech right? Or is it branded Logitech in some markets?

I could not find anything called a Logitech Smart Display, but those pictures match up with the Lenovo Smart Display

Oh, I see your problem, you've inadvertently asked for "Donald Trump's statements about himself" rather than "Donald Trump facts".

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Me Culpa - should be Lenovo  Smart Display and posts fixed.

So far the most annoying thing I have found is, I have it setup to display photos from my Google Photos albums (thousands of pictures there going back more than 15 years). It will occasionally display a picture that brings back memories and we all look at it but then it does not tell in which Google Photo album it's in so you can easily find the photo :-(  It should have a Info button to give you that data
