I purchased some Philips Hue downlights on a boxing day special (and then used a price guarantee for a further 15% off) expecting to have them installed in January, but now due to some unforeseen circumstances it might be 6-12 months until I can actually get them installed.

I'm wondering if I should try returning them for refund and wait for another sale closer to when I can have them installed so that the warranty period isn't all being used up while they just sit in their boxes.

Do they go on sale frequently enough that I won't have to wait ages for another sale if I return them?

It was 4x Aphelion at $53.98 each (incl GST), and 1x Wireless Dimmer at $29.66 (incl GST).

What do you guys think?

I saw the Philips Hue go on sale twice in last month and half for 30% off at Noel Leeming. I now have a gift card from Noel Leeming that will expire end of January and hoping Auckland anniversary might bring back the sale so I can buy the Hue hub atleast as everything else at Noel Leeming is usually not actually discounted that well. Expect Waitangi day and Easter holidays to bring back the 30% off as well.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Noel Leeming don't appear to stock the Aphelion downlights though unfortunately.
