I have a Sangean WFR-28D which I believe the PowerSupply has gone on it.


It requires a '7.5 volts DC at 1.6 A center pin negative '


 


Which Power Supply from the Jaycar product range would be suitable for the device?

Your best bet is to take it in with you, since you will need to make sure that the barrel connector fits anyway. Most of the jaycar ones have a range of connectors (which you can make center pin negative/positive by flipping around), but I have found the odd thing that doesn't fit any of their standard options.

Also, be very careful how you set up the PSU you plug into it. 7.5V is just an oddball voltage, but centre negative is the opposite to the normal configuration, which is centre positive.

 

 

If you're not in a hurry, you can also just buy the appropriate PSU off eBay.

Found what I needed at Jaycar.

 

Multi voltage - set it to 7.5V

 

Max 2.25a 

 

The radio runs, so I reckon all good :-)

If it was Sony I'd say so you're forced to buy Sony replacement power supplies at ten times the price of a non-Sony one, but with Sangean, who knows.
