Hi
I have been broken into several times, they even know how to turn off my burglar alarms and open my dominantor door and I've changed codes.

A locksmith has proved at long last my locks are being picked to gain access.

I also know my cell phone is being hacked as email and photos and certain messages are being wiped in messenger.

I want to get a decent camera system set up that will record remotely as well.as on the property other than send to my Samsung phone.

Any recommendations appreciated

I'm not very happy as my neighbour refuses to allow a camera on my garage as it's a shared property. Can anyone help me with the legalities of this. She says it's so I don't know who her visitors are but when I'm burgled she's at home. My car in drive easily seen from the street and I'm gone less than an hour in the daytime in a street where everyone can see each others property .

Get your security company to change the pass codes

A locksmith has proved at long last my locks are being picked to gain access.

Talk to your locksmith about upgrading to a more un-pickable locks. Ensure all windows have window locks.

I also know my cell phone is being hacked as email and photos and certain messages are being wiped in messenger.

Factory reset your phone and restart with different difficult pass codes including your email passwords

I want to get a decent camera system set up that will record remotely as well as on the property other than send to my Samsung phone.

Any recommendations appreciated

I'm not up on security cameras

I'm not very happy as my neighbor refuses to allow a camera on my garage as it's a shared property. Can anyone help me with the legalities of this. Mount the camera internally in the garage aimed through an appropriate size hole in the garage wall at your front door. Do it when she is not looking (🔭)

Ensure your home router/modem password is not still set to default. The default user name & password are usually written on the bottom of the modem. Log into the router/modem and change your user name & password. Also ensure the modem security settings is set to WPA2.

Check via your home computer that all your network is set to WPA2 and change the computer password and change your network password (make all these passwords different) use a recommended password generator greater than 8 characters long.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

As mentioned above, get the alarm codes changed although if someone is going to the trouble to pick your locks, there's a possibility they know how to work around alarm codes. How long have you been at your address?

I also know my cell phone is being hacked as email and photos and certain messages are being wiped in messenger.

This could be a login to your messenger account via a PC from someone who knows your username/password combination.

If your phone really is being hacked, maybe think about this...

Any recommendations appreciated

If I was getting broken into (regularly?) I'd be saying to hell with the neighbour and mounting a camera anyway. I take the garage is your property and is on your property with a shared driveway?

This sounds like a really concerted, prolonged series of attacks exhibiting a considerable level of skill across multiple areas. Before looking at technical measures, you need to ask why someone is doing this to you. Are you a targeted individual?

I was wondering how they were able to open the garage door, as that is a well known brand,? Are their ways for them to intercept the transmission or something each time you press the button.

You could consider a camera in your car if it's always there?

If the garage wall is your property then you can put a camera on it. IANAL but I spoke with a police-person friend a wee while ago about a neighbours 'hidden' cameras pointing out to the public/shared space and they said there wasn't anything they would/could do.  The theory being that it's public space and if the police could prosecute someone for recording it then where would it end? People taking photos of their family with others in the background? Slippery slope. There was no indication of anything more malicious than simply for security in this case, they were just poorly hidden.

Go spend some time on the r/lockpicking Reddit sub. They discuss a lot of topics that might be of use. Talk to your locksmith about security pins in the lock, also have it re-pinned in a configuration that is not easy to pick in the first place. I would also be adding security lights to every area to lessen the ease in which someone can hide. Also consider that often the threat of a camera is enough to deter, so a fake one or a sign alluding to having one installed may be enough.

If i thought my phone was hacked i'd be dumping all the passwords and working with LastPass or somesuch to remove the chance of someone guessing a password based on your personal details. Also think about dumping the sim altogether if you are going to be super paranoid about it.

Sounds like a tricky situation that is more than you might be able to handle on your own. I am not envious of your position.

Neighbor refuses cameras, doesn't want you to know who her visitors are, is always home when you are burgled. Weird....
I'd be really surprised if your phone was being "Hacked" by someone also doing the theft. Maybe you had a PC turned on, logged into facebook and or the passwords were stored in Chrome.

Hi
Yes I do believe I'm personally being attacked. It has been going on for 8 years when I laid a police complaint and due to intimidation I withdrew it.

My ex is a cop and I don't think it's him but possibly his some of his colleagues he used to talk about. The locksmith does assessments for insurance companies and said that it either was a lock Smith or police or a high criminal as it's so hard to pick the lock I had and due to.them doing it no point in paying to change combination as they have cracked this one so will do it again. They did it within a half to three quarter hour timecframe so they knew what they were doing.

They have always never taken big value items apart from all my jewellery and watches. Thing a like power cords out of my DVD player, photos, certificates/awards etc.

I believe my neighbour is the link. She is elderly but had a chequered past in her early years. She is on medication for aniexty and insomnia and I believe they have intimidated her to report every time I leave the property. As she is always home when they are happening and never sees a thing. I think that is the only reason why she doesn't want a camera as she will be caught with them.

Park your car in your garage to reduce visibility of when you are home or not.

If not using your garage... Turn off the power to your garage door.

What other physical security do you have on doors and windows to prevent access to your house?

Cameras won't stop hoodies, masked or determined intruders....

The privacy commissioner website has quite abit of info around this. And there are a few other geekzone posts dealing with this.

But why don't you simply get a indoor security camera such as the nest indoor security camera?

If you pay for a subscription, then you can have 24/7 footage to fall back on. You could position them around the house to cover all areas.

For other people replying to this thread, google the term I used, "targeted individual". I'm not saying that's the case, but it looks a lot like it.

I'm in tears as yes it appears I'm a target individual and I don't know how to stop it.
I've been put into pyschiatric care for being delusional saying I thought this put on meds and never made a difference.
I thought it was identity theft as all they burgled are things personal to me.
Phones, tablets all affected all the time.
I'm scared they will find a way to turn power off when I install security to still get access to my home.
I've never felt mentally so strong and they get pissed off at me, they tell me what is going to happen to me

happen to me and it does.
They just said were not going to let you do it to us and keep writing. Hence this second post.

My phone is not on automatic brightness settings I'm always having to lower it as they put it up bright to drain my battery. It happens in front of my eyes.

I'm not crazy I'm a professional respected business woman .
