My wife and fathers partner have similar names and when I ask google assistant to call my wife by her name it always defaults to my dads partner,

Is there a way to retrain the system?

I have tried renaming my dads partner in my contacts app to something quite different but it still does it wrong.

Any help would be appreciated.

Failing this I'll call Google.

"now Calling Apple Support...."

Sorry, couldnt resist. :)

Try deleting the contact, then re-add under another name.

There are two people in my contacts list with the same christian name.

If I say "Call Fred" then GA asks "Do you want to call Fred Bloggs or Fred Smith?"

Does yours not?

Dial the number yourself, the old fashioned way?

Have you tried deleting one contact entirely and then re-adding it?

Say "Call My Wife".
Obviously Google needs to know which contact is your wife. I use this because my wife has a name that Google just can't seem to understand. Works (almost) faultlessly.

Edit: It even asks if I want the home phone or her mobile.

Brings back memories of the ad with the mother in law wanting him to voice dial her while she was in the car and he's trying to mumble "old trout".
