Today I solved a slightly odd wireless issue we were having with our Google Home Hub and August Lock and since I can't see any mention of anything like this on GZ I thought I'd share, just in case anyone experiences the same issue in future.

The symptoms were:

- Both devices disconnected from the wireless at the same time about every 2 days.

- Nothing we did could get them to reconnect until about an hour had passed, after which both devices would reconnect without issue.

- Other devices continued to work fine throughout.

[ 100 points if you can correctly deduce the answer at this point :) ]

The cause was:

- Wireless AP was set to NZ (ie; wireless channels 1-13).

- Wireless AP has a 'dynamic channel' feature which actively searches for quieter channels every hour and swaps if it finds one.

- Faulting devices were manufactured in the US and only support wireless channels 1-11.

- Occasionally the AP would choose channel 12/13 which the faulting devices could not communicate on.

Fix:

Change AP region to 'United States'.

Problem solved (not ideal, but it's the only workaround AFAICS)
