Can anyone recommend a video door bell alternative to the Ring brand. There is lots of alternatives for half the price or less, but how good are they?

Whichever you select, if they require any port forward to see the live video, drop it like a brick.

Why not Ring? Just the price?

Yes, just the price. Was leaning towards the Ring video pro, but surely there must be a cheaper option with similar specs.

Can you run a wired network cable to the doorbell location? If so many options are available that are much more reliable than a WiFi doorbell like Ring or Nest. Fanvil i30 is same price point as Ring and but many more features available and it is much more robust in terms of build quality.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Seriously just go for Ring.

The alternatives are close to the price and no where as good. Ring is secure, doesn’t require port forwarding and is reliable.
