I playing with these - $15 delivered with colour screen, battery etc.

 

Working on getting dryer sensor to work using built in vibration sensor to work with Home Assistant and generally playing. Great value for money.

@prob, how for away are you from hooking this to HA?

 

Would it then be a binary sensor? Something else?

Great price... AliX has them at NZ$15 + $7 shipping. Wish I could think of something I need it for. :)

I'm just at the beginning. A problem is that the motion sensor used is not one commonly employed. However, there is a library. Will report once I know more.
