All Blacks fans will now be closer to the action all at the command of their voice, following the launch of the All Blacks voice skill, on Amazon Alexa.
'Alexa, ask All Blacks for the latest news' will allow users to hear the latest team updates, while fans can also access game previews and recaps, as well as compete for a place on the global leader board in a weekly All Blacks quiz.
Developed in collaboration with leading voice-experience and digital design agency VERSA, the skill will also allow fans to hear - or watch on multi-modal Alexa devices - the team perform the Haka, and gain insight into the meaning behind the legendary war dance.
New Zealand Rugby (NZR) Chief Commercial Officer, Richard Thomas, said it was an innovative move for the organisation, which will provide fans with a unique and interactive voice-experience and access to great content.
“Just as the All Blacks are dedicated to bringing the highest level of skill onto the playing field, New Zealand Rugby is committed to bringing ground-breaking innovations to our millions of fans off the field too.
“In this increasingly mobile world, we want to ensure we’re delivering a unique experience to our fans that compliments their lifestyles. The All Blacks voice skill enables us to provide a rich digital experience that will connect fans with the team, allowing them to engage in a more meaningful way.”
Country Manager, Alexa Skills Australia and New Zealand, Kate Burleigh, said:
“We're delighted to see New Zealand Rugby innovate around fan engagement with Alexa. The All Blacks Alexa skill has some fantastic content for fans and its launch is perfectly timed ahead of their campaign in Japan.”
Fans in New Zealand, Australia, USA, UK and Canada will be able to access the All Blacks skill through Amazon Alexa devices from today onwards.
