I am after a slimline USB charger with the USB port facing up. The only ones I can find seem to have the port facing down. I'm aiming to rotate this setup (Zigbee router) 180 degrees so the aerial faces up:

Any ideas?

Turn the socket box upside down?  The one in my bathroom is like that for some reason, was like  that when we moved in and I haven't bothered changing it

What is your reason for wanting the aerial pointing upwards?

RF propagation is unlikely to change much with the aerial pointing up or down unless there is some phasing issue.

Mains wiring in the wall may affect propagation.

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

There is also an option of using a bendable semi rigid USB cable.... bend it to get your aerial pointing upwards..... I have not found a local web link.... but here is an example...

... but aerials are *supposed* to point upwards!? If I start questioning fundamentals like this, I will end up doubting my own existence! 😀

More seriously, there is less chance of it being kicked or hit with a vacuum cleaner pointing upwards. It is in a hallway.

I would be putting it in a case beside the wall outlet and attaching it with a short cable if it absolutly needed to be there. But in a hallway that is a bit of an eyesore so perhaps look into putting a blank plate and flushbox beside it and hiding it away?

Get a Chinese-market USB wall wart, where the plugs are upside-down relative to the Aus/NZ use.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Good point. If they're pointing upwards the signal behaves a wave and is propagated outwards. Pointing down, the signal behaves like particles and they fall off the pointy end onto the floor, where the cat eats them.

Maybe 3D-printing a new case could help?

I wondered why my cat looked like it was being fed by someone else!

It's actually quite convenient, she inevitably horks them up again, so I spoon them up and ladle them into an 18650 I keep handy for the purpose.
